The estate was founded in Iphofen back in 1839 by Johann Balthasar Ruck. Today the Ruck family blends tradition with modern insights into minimal interventionist viticultural. Their passion for this approach is visible out in the vineyard, with notably dense plantings (up to 7000 vines per ha) of specially selected vines and a rigorous yield reduction (down to 50 hl/ha). Silvaner, Riesling and Pinot vines thrive in the keuper soils of the renowned Iphofen and Rödelsee sites that surround the Schwanberg. Distinctiveness and sustainability are the estate's heritage, passed down from generation to generation.
